U11 Boys ORSA Tournament Report
The Embro U11 Boys Select team traveled to Alvinston for the ORSA Tournament this past weekend and secured an impressive 3rd place finish.


The Embro team had a strong start as the boys battled hard to win 9-5 against Caledonia. Advancing in the winners bracket, they faced the team from Jarvis and emerged victorious with a final score of 15-5.
After a brief break, they took on the Douro Dukes Saturday evening. The boys maintained the lead until the 5th inning when Douro tied the game, forcing extra innings. After one scoreless extra inning, Douro managed to pull ahead, ultimately winning 15-11. Jake Dufton pitched all 7 innings, making multiple critical outs while on the mound.
On Sunday morning, the team faced the eventual tournament champions, the Fisherville Flames, and lost 10-4.
Overall, it was a great weekend of baseball! Quality pitching and defense, along with aggressive base running, contributed significantly to the team's success.

Defensive Highlights:
  • Jake Dufton pitched 14 innings with 17 strikeouts
  • Clark Pletsch pitched 6 inning with 13 strikeouts
  • Nash Leversage pitched 1 inning with 3 strikeouts
  • Gavyn King pitched 1 inning
  • Sam Eddy was very strong behind the plate catching all but 1 inning for the entire tournament.
  • The infield was solid, making multiple catches on pop-ups, strong throws to first, and making outs on runners attempting steal home.

Overall, it was a fantastic effort by these boys, who, despite not always playing on the same team, came together and positively represented Embro Minor Baseball.
