Please fill out all sections of the form. EMBA board will be making coaching selections late March
Thank you for your application to volunteer for EMBA in the 2025 season!

Below are the list of roles and time commitment expected of coaches. 

Head Coach
-attend indoor practices 1-2x per week during April
-attend games 2x per week through season
-attend any extra practices and tournaments team wishes to enter throughout the season 
-organize practices, create lineups for games
-keep open and consistent communication with parents via email/whatsapp
-communicate with assistant coaches and team volunteers
-communicate with the board to schedule practices, and rained out games

Assistant Coach
-attend indoor practices 1-2x per week during April
-attend games 2x per week through season
-attend any extra practices and tournaments team wishes to enter throughout the season
-organize practices, create lineups for games (when asked by head coach)
-communicate with other coaches and team volunteers

Team Manager/Parent Rep
-take direction from head coach
-report all game scores to EMBA website
-collect tournament fees and or forms from parents where needed
-communicate with parents/head coaches & EMBA if issues with team arise
-make sure parents are aware of and follow booth volunteer schedule(sent out by EMBA) 
-organize team 50/50 at home games  

**Please note we are aware family vacations, and other commitments arise throughout the season where coaches will be away. Our expectation is that volunteers communicate this with the rest of the team coaching staff well in advance.**

Tournaments 
EMBA aims to provide all relevant information for coaches to enter tournaments if they choose to. 

League Tournaments
All SOSL teams U9 and up will be entered into the league year end tournament at no extra cost to the team. The dates will be announced when SOSL schedules are posted. U7 will be entered into a “rookie fun day”.

Miscellaneous Tournaments
Throughout the season the EMBA board will share any tournaments found with coaching staff. If your team wishes to enter it will be up to the team coaches/management to register and cover all fees. 

ORSA 
Ontario Rural Softball Association hosts competitive tournaments for teams U11 and up. This is an optional tournament that your team may want to enter. If your team wishes to enter it will be up to the team coaches/management to register and cover all fees. 

Coaches can decide to enter their full team as is, or a select tournament team can be made in the event EMBA has two teams in one age group. View EMBA’s Select Tournament Team policy below.

I understand that as a part of the coaching staff I will have to complete a valid police check. Application form can be found under "Coaches" tab on the website. We strongly recommend starting this process before coaching selections are finished.
